An Indian living in Saudi Arabia has won a huge jackpot. Kerala-based PV Rajan won Rs 61.37 crore (25 million dirhams) in the Abu Dhabi-based lottery 'Big Ticket Draw Series 281'. Rajan bought a ticket (282824) on November 9 and the lucky draw took place on December 3.
PV Rajan has been buying the 'Big Ticket' lottery for the past 15 years, but today he got lucky. In the presence of lottery organizers Richard and Bouchra, another Indian, Saravanan Venkatachalam, who was the winner of the last series, drew the lucky draw. In this, Rajan's happiness knew no bounds as he got a bumper offer for the ticket he bought. When the organizers told him about the lottery win over the phone, Rajan was overwhelmed. He said that he was very happy. He said that he did not watch the live show and was outside at the time. He said that he would share the money won with his 15 colleagues. Rajan works as a supervisor in a company in Saudi Arabia.
The popular lottery 'Big Ticket Abu Dhabi' conducts a lucky draw every month. It also offers several consolation prizes along with the grand prize every month. This time, 10 consolation winners received Rs. 2.45 lakhs (10 thousand dirhams) each. Three of them are Indians. It is known that Saravanan Venkatachalam from Tamil Nadu emerged as the winner in the Big Ticket lucky draw held on the 3rd of last month. With this, he received 25 million dirhams. This is the second consecutive time that Indians have won the Big Ticket lottery.
